Composing a CV

The objectives of your CV are to:

Highlight aspects of your education, which would be most suited to this job
Impress the employer, making you the most suitable candidate

Guidelines for writing your CV:

Keep it to two pages, giving a brief but full account of your achievements.
Give details of your Leaving Cert/degree highlighting grades.
Be honest and truthful and ensure there are no gaps in it.
Highlight your achievements to date.
A covering letter should accompany your CV.
Use a word processor and good quality A4 paper.
Highlight the important headings in "Bold".
Proof read carefully and remember to do a spellcheck!!
In relation to hobbies ensure that they are current and you can expand on them fully.

Preparing for an Interview

Here are some tips on how you should prepare for an interview:

Preparation
Read the advertisement carefully with particular reference to job and person specification.

Punctuality
Arrive with a few minutes to spare to ensure you have time to compose yourself.

Appearance
Dress neatly and looked well groomed.

Interview
Answer all questions to the best of your ability and elaborate if possible.

Body language
Make eye contact, smile and display enthusiasm.

Questions
Questions to ask at the end of the interview-more information on the job, career prospects, likelihood of a second interview, etc.

Working for VHI in Kilkenny

Located 121 Km Southwest of Dublin lies one of Ireland's most alluring destinations. Kilkenny City. This is a lovely place where the centuries rub elbows, with Georgian streets, hard Tudor stone houses, even the great town castle is a marriage of Gothic and Victorian styles.

First class amenities, a friendly community, a brilliant nightlife and a good quality of life are but a few characteristics of Kilkenny.

Vhi Healthcare are located in a place called "Purcell's Inch", 2.5 Km outside the city in the I.D.A industrial park. A contemporary development with extensive office space and room for expansion should see it develop into an attractive workplace.

Vhi Healthcare currently has six departments located in Kilkenny. The Contact Centre managed by Maurice Whelan, Claims department managed by Hilda Franey, Software Development managed by Les Sparling, Office Services, Human Resources and Finance. Currently there are approximately 200 staff employed in Kilkenny.
